Who is Sofi?
Sofi started painting when she was thirteen years old, and sold and had her paintings exibited. She wanted to be an artist, but chose the well-trodden path and became a lawyer instead.
Her wake-up call was when she received a phone call from her now-ex’s mistress’ husband on a corporate line, when he told her that her now-ex was having an affair with his wife. And so Sofi took the unusual path of not telling her ex about the phonecall, and instead did her due diligence.
The scale of his infidelity was more than she could comprehend. Sofi called her lawyer, and devised a well-thought out plan.
In the process, Sofi discovered that she was a victim of domestic abuse. How could she not have known? Domestic abuse is the worst kind of abuse of trust. You place your faith in a person, thinking that they have your best interests at heart.
Sofi’s silence ended up being her power, and she strategized her way out of that relationship by using tenacity, determination, strategy and most importantly, being able to compartmentalize her emotions so that she didn’t tip off her abuser. All she wanted to do, was to leave that relationship safely.
And so, Get F*King Objective and Herstories were born.
Sofi seeks to empower women through her writing, not only educating women on what domestic abuse is in an emotionally intelligent way, but provides them with tools and tips to outsmart abusers. Women not only have the right to fight for their lives, but they have the permission to do what it takes. If that means lying, cheating and stealing, so be it. Sofi addresses patriarchal power structures that are deeply embedded in religion, government, the legal justice system, education and culture.
Get F*King Objective and Herstories discusses these inequalities, and gets women to appreciate that they are powerful. It is just society that hasn’t caught up yet.
